kid meatloaf ( a favorite at my house- the onion powder is great beacause we get the flavor..and the kids dont see any onions!)
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/2 cups crispy wheat cereal squares
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar and mustard and mix well. Remove 4 tablespoons of this mixture and reserve for later for the top of the loaves. To the mixture in the bowl, add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, onion, garlic, egg, milk and ground black pepper and mix together well.
Stir in the wheat cereal squares and let stand for 5 minutes. Then break up the cereal squares and add the ground beef, mixing well. Shape the mixture into the mini loaf pans you've decided to use.

I made homemade cream of mushroom soup, last night and it turned out awesome.
Just take an 8oz package of cleaned and thinly sliced mushrooms and simmer them in 2 cups of heated-to-boiling water with a couple chicken bullion cubes and a small diced onions for 20 minutes.
While you're simmering that, melt 4 T. of margarine or butter and stir in about 4 T. of flour and stir until all blended. Slow stir in 3 cups of milk, stirring a lot and keeping nice and warm (but not too hot, it could burn to the bottom of the pan) until it thickens.
Add to the mushrooms and remove from heat, or just simmer a little while on low until the kids get off the bus. (Remember to stir it.)
Add a little pepper and they will think you're amazing.
You can also put a little grated cheese or Goldfish crackers on top.

I love cinnamon rolls without the icing, but thats just me. Christmas is coming and it's time to plump up, I hope your kids have a blast helping you make these and eating them too!!!
This is my own homemade recipe so if you have any questions, e-mail me and I'll help ya out!
Homemade Cinnamon Rolls
What you'll need:
-One large mixing bowl
-One large baking dish
-Wax/Parchment paper or grease the sides of pan (your choice)
Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tbsp white sugar
4 tsp baking POWDER
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup (or 1 stick) maragrine
1 cup milk
1/3 cup of maragrine (yes again)
1 cup of packed brown sugar
3 tsp ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350* F
-In a large bowk combine first 4 ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt) cut in the first butter until it resembles coarse crums make a well (hole) in the middle and pour the milk in. Mix until blended. note: when I made this dough it was pretty wet so when you pour onto the surface to kneed, add flour to the top of dough, your hands and the surface your going to kneed on.
-Turn dough on floured surface and kneed 8 to 10 times, toll out to a rectangle about one inch thick and about 12 inches wide, trim edges neatly.
-place the second butter ontop of flattened dough surface, leaving one inch space on the bottom unbuttered, pour on brown sugar and distribute evenly, do the same to the cinnamon. take your rolling pin and lightly flatten your brownsugar mix so you can roll it up.
-starting at the top and in the middle, roll your dough down towards you and making sure that the roll is tight (don't worry too much if the dough has a hole in it, when it bakes everything will all bake together) and end the roll with the unbuttered, unbrown sugared/cinnmon piece seals the roll. Measure out your pieces and cut. Place on side next to each other with 2's in a row. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes and make a icing recipe. This recipe makes about 10 rolls. *Cut out of pan onto plate when hot, the brown sugar will harden when cooled and will be next to impossible to get out if you don't*

if you go to Canadaianliving.com or Chatelaine.com, there are drop down menus that allow you to choose the circumstance you're in, like minimum veggies, etc.
