Yes.... And yes. Formally studied Aikido/Aikijitsu, Kyoshinkan Karate, and Tae Kwon Do. (Though I don't really count the last two as I was only there long enough to gain some basics.) However, also have done personal research and/or worked out with practitioners in Jui-jitsu, Taijiquan, Arnis, & a non-classical form of Gung Fu.

You?

Very much so. And as far as practice I have been an instructor of the Hakuno-Kai system of martial arts since 1979 and have also studied Korean Hwa Rang Do and Chinese Choy Lee Fut. I have noticed a definate change in the way that the martial arts are practiced and presented especially in the US. It seem that more and more instructors are getting away form the practicality of use in favor of more aesthetically energetic movements. This shows itself in the lack of intention during the performance of Kata and forms as well in an inability of the students to explain the use of the techniques when asked. Maybe I am too much a traditionalist but once you remove the practical fighting aspects for the martial arts you lose not only the effectiveness but the spirit of the art.

I am a second degree blackbelt and I have been doing martial arts since I was 6 years old. It is a very good sport in my opinion. When I was 15 I won the state championship in South Carolina. That right there paid off for all the hardwork.

If I didn't like MA, why would I be on this board? I practice Tae Kwon Do. I have 15 yrs experience & am a 3rd degree Black Belt.

yup, i love every style of martial arts.. i think all are beautiful...

i practice a few..

my primary art is taijiquan, yang style, i also study qigong, i-chuan, hsing-i.. those are my chinese arts

and my mixed martial arts training includes: kickboxing, boxing and grappling as well as jkd trapping, krav maga, escrima, collapsible baton defensive training, and capoeira..

my husband is a completely external martial artist so i learned my external martial arts from him..

my internal martial arts i learned from my sifu, laoshir corpolongo

i know it's a lot, but it keeps us busy and sets a good example for our 4 year old son, who is already pretty good at ground and pound..

Not really. But I started fitness things to grow muscles.
(I know it isn't martial arts, but it's an "art" anyway)
