I have the same problem. I am very good friends with a woman that I would love to see otherwise, but I don't want to risk the deep friendship that we have by entering into a relationship, breaking up at some point and totally losing her out of my life. It is a dilemma.

Because you are always scared that it will hurt your friendship.

You really enjoy them as a friend and you do not want to do anything that will endanger that relationship. On the other hand, you wish to move the relationship to a higher level. You are scared that they do not/ will not feel the same and it will strain your current friendship. It can be very tough.

You're afraid that the person doesn't want to go out with you as "something more", and you don't want to risk losing the friendship you already have. But I think you should try! If you really are interested in your friend, go for it...
Good luck!!
