Crying is merely a show of emotion. This can be done in many ways, however.... under water, tears may not be apparent due to contact with water around the eyes make the eyes extremely dry. Not that it is easy to see clear liquids in water anyway.

Sure you can. The tears would be less likely to use the tear ducts as they may just float away. :-)) The better question would be " can you tell if your crying under water"
