What does freezer burn look like? Is it okay to eat hamburger meat that has a little bit of freezer burn?

Not the best to do but in a pinch you can cut off all freezer burn and cook the rest.

I don't know how to describe how freezer burn looks like, but I have linked some pictures. I remember reading somewhere that, although freezer-burn will make the food taste different / bad, it is completely safe to eat foods that have been freezer-burned.

I would not use any freezer burned foods ( foods other than meats can be freezer burned). You can usually tell by the discoloration but you can also smell it. Personally I think it has a bad taste too.

Cut off the freezer burned portion and the rest should be OK. It certainly will be safe to eat in any case.

The meat turns a grey/white/dry in areas (burn). It won't hurt you, just tastes nasty.

personally i wouldn't but there are some people who do, but they say that it taste different (in a bad way). not a very tasty meal.
