Try another keyboard first. It might fix you at least if the problem is software or hardware. I guess the keyboard is either wrongly connected (loose connectoR) or dead

Likely possibilities:

* Keyboard is physically broken. Borrow another keyboard (USB if possible) and try it. If you are using a non-USB connection you will likely need to reboot.

* software is installed that is remapping the keyboard. This is the hardest to debug. But you can start with your control panel and look at your installed program base. Did you recently try a game for example?

* you have another input device that is colliding with the keyboard. For example, this happened to me when I was using the X-arcade stick. I'd set it on it's side and it would put random keystrokes in whatever I was doing. Pull out all of your other input devices.

Your specific examples sound bizarre enough you may have somewhat of a unique problem. Try your keyboard on a different computer and another keyboard on your computer first.

Are you sure that your keyboard is set to English(United States)? go to ConrolPanel / Regional and Language Options/, make sure that it says English(United States), also in Advanced Tab make sure it also says English(united States)..

If that won't work then it's probably the keyboard itself(only if it's not wireless), make sure that the cable is not twisted, maybe you pulled it too hard and one of the wires inside the cable got broken..(try to hold space key) and try to twist it around and see what happens

also what you can do is go to Device Manager(Control Panel/System/Hardware/DeviceManager/) and remove keyboard driver, then restart the computer and when windows starts it should autodetect the keyboard...

Sounds like you either have food stuck in there or some type of foreign object. Turn your keyboard over and lightly tap the underside, you will be surprised what comes out!

Its also possible that there is something tuck in the keyboard, like pop or some other liquid. Throw it in the dishwasher and run it but REMOVE IT BEFORE THE DRY CYCLE.

Let it sit overnight to air dry then hook it up.

sound like something is shorting out the keyboard
flip is over and bang on the back see what fall out.
If it was a liquid some times you can rince with tap water and let dry before plugging back in..
Or just pick up a new key board
