I couldn't sleep last night, and early in the mornings...around 3 a.m. or so, is when most of the Evangelists come on t.v. I was flipping through the channels, and looked at about three or four different shows, and noticed things that just didn't seem right. Two of the Evangelists wanted people to call in and buy their books on how to be successful and receive wealth and prosperity "through God." Others wanted people to call in, and purchase their DVD's, tapes, etc. But, what REALLY got me was one Evangelist, who actually wanted people to place orders, and pay money to buy towels, or scarves (can't remember what), that had been dipped in "holy water." Why on earth do they want people to pay for a towel dipped in holy water? I know that they might need money to keep their show on the air, or something of that nature, but that seemed a bit ridiculous. Have any of you seen this? I am not trying to judge, but are many of these people fakes???

Even worse we real people get to pay more taxes so the "holy men" can pay none. Their businesses don't pay taxes either. Some will argue that they are "non-profit". What a joke. Anyone that owns a business can be "non-profit" just by spending the left over millions on houses, boats, vacations, girl friends, etc.

I think most of them are fake and should be dealt with for their deception. Peter the apostle ran into one of them and dealt with him like this.
Acts 8:18 Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was bestowed through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money, 19 saying, "Give this authority to me as well, so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit." 20 But Peter said to him, "May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money! 21 "You have no part or portion in this matter, for your heart is not right before God. 22 "Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray the Lord that, if possible, the intention of your heart may be forgiven you. 23 "For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bondage of iniquity."

In today's society, it's unfortunate that the line between honesty and bearing false witness is razor thin, and not just in politics anymore; the disease of dishonesty has spread to almost every area of society, including religion.

there are few people on this plant more filthy and manipulative as a TV Evangelist -they prey on the weak-minded, elderly, and gullible. They're all con-men.

yes, some people make religion as crooked as some politicians make politics. these people are a bad representation of Christ, and u shouldn't look to them for religious example or judge Christianity as whole by them. remember the devil is out there too, and he's out to deceive.

It happens everywhere. Can you imagine a Pastor telling congregants towrite the problems on a piece of paper and spank the note to get their problems solved. If you know your God,you know his teachings. He says, "anyone who has ears should lsten to what thespirit says to him."The bible mentions false prophets and the bible never lies so they will be with us.let your faith guide you and don't fall prey.Because God will judge everyone according to his deeds.

Unfortunately, there are people desperate enough to fall for that sort of thing. It's sad because they will probably never get the help they so desperately seek.
