I believe that when anyone dies it is only their body that "dies". A body is no more than something like a car or clothes that you use to get around in and when it's either too damaged or keeping it causes too many restrictions on our soul's growth, we leave it. Then after our soul comes to terms with what it did in its last incarnation, it finds another body in a culture and situation that will help it learn more about loving and about all the things life is about (which are endless). Though our looks, activities, and circumstances change continually, the "I" inside us lives forever and ever. What religion we do or do not follow, what name(s) we may use for "god", do not matter, because all of that is based on average human level awareness. The more we grow through time and lifetimes, however, the more we will be able to instinctively feel and relate to tradition or literature that reflects more closely the presence and the sanctity of the divine creator--in everything around us, in ourselves, in all other beings. The death of the physical expression of anyone we love or benefit from causes pain because they will not be there to be with or enjoy, but one should always know deep in their heart that the deceased is not dead and will never stop being the wonderful soul that they are--and that as time and lives move on, things are only getting better and better for them and for oneself.

I don't think, I know that, based on holy scriptures available to me, my spirit will go to a spirit world called Paradise and there I will rest, do good works, and then wait for the first resurrection to come at the Advent of the Savior's Second Coming.
Then comes my judgment and my eternal home and reward. I can only pray that I will remain true and faithful to the covenants I have made with Jesus Christ from baptism and in His holy temple.

Most likely the same thing that happened to us before we were born - nothing. But none of us can be sure until we die.

Your answer is very clearly written in the Holy Bible. If you live on earth as God would have you to (according to His word) and are a follower of Christ (Christian) then you inherit life with Christ in Heaven. (Don't misconstrue the preceding with being a pew warmer in the church). That is NOT the true meaning of Christian. Following Christ is "living as He teaches in His Word 24/7/365/6. No exceptions! We are bound to fail and falter but that is when we go to our bedroom and ask God for forgiveness of our sin/shortcoming/error and "..He is just to forgive us.." However, if we sin wilfully we have a more serious problem. Deliberately living contrary to God's Word is like slapping him in the face or crucifying Him all over again.
Second choice is to ignore God's Word and live like an angel on Sunday but like the devil all the rest of the week (gossipping, hatred, lewd acts, etc) and you will have your place in the Lake of Fire (Hell).

I am absolutely not afraid to say that I don't know what will happen to me when I die. I'm not overly concerned about it. I'm focusing on living a good life, and what happens, happens.

What do you think of beating a dead horse? You might want to use the search function first.
I know what will happen to me when I die. I'll either be buried or my ashes will be thrown to an eastern wind.

I think death is quite a momentary thing, and it won't be painful. The spirit within you will separate from your body, and will rise and rise to heaven where it will stay. You'll never be too far away from the ones you love, and you'll be able to watch over them like an Angel, and those you watch over will be able to feel your presence and your love...

Since my beliefs closely match reality,* I will experience the light of God, what is called "God's respiration"; I will feel ego drop away, as I make my way through my true state of being, as one with my Father, and all of selfhood. I will see all my creations, that my Father has kept for me for the "duration" of this dream of physicality...which lasted the blink of an eye, and was gone.
*One's beliefs color one's experience, whether in the physical, or not. If one believes in hell, one will most likely find images of such, until they drop away, and the truth is seen.
