Let's get 1 thing straight. Boys with long hair are definetly not the cutest. Boys with low cut caesers are. With that said here's my response to your question. He has long hair and girls also have long here ( atleast most of them do ). How can you not expect people to mistake him for a girl when he has girl hair. That's what ya call stupid. If you really want to solve this problem you're going to have to cut his hair, or deal with people calling your son a female. That's the way it goes. If I saw him down the street I would also think he is a girl or even a tomboy. Only thing I can say to ya is good luck sweetie.

I understand that you're offended, but for most people, it's an association thing. People are used to girls having hair, while boys have very little, if any. If it's any consolation, when my daughter was first born, she had a lot of curly, black hair. I would put little pink headbands around her head, and dress her in mostly pink, and I even had a sweater for her that was pink and white with a little ballerina slipper on it. But almost every day, without fail, someone would tell me how adorable my "little boy" was! Talk about pissed off! I would correct them, and point out to them how she was wearing all pink, then they'd be embarrassed! I enjoyed looking at people's faces when they realized they'd put their foot in their mouths, but it was still very annoying to have to explain the obvious, time and time again. Whenever I see a baby, I'll ask the parent "how old's your little one?", so I don't make the same avoidable mistake!

Have you ever stop to think that some people do not hear that
good, my husband is like that unless you are talking so that he can see your lips moving he miss a lot of what you say, and i know that this can be very annoying. But it does not mean that they a stupid, and stupid is a harsh word to use on anyone, and as you little guy dressing like a boy these day some parents dress there children in all sorts of things and sometimes it is hard to know if they are a boy or a girl. and i am sure you little boy is cute. and that you love him very much
and remember Jesus loves you

If it bothers you but you are unwilling to change then there is nothing you can do about it. Some people have older beliefs that girls have longer hair. These same people would call a girl with short hair a boy also. So are you expecting everyone in the world to conform to your belief system? Wow I wish I was the center of the universe so I could change everybodies mind.

Well, appearances are a lot to us humans, but not everything when it comes to quickly have an idea of what we are facing/talking to, etc... I'm sure you know is your "boy", but people out there are more likely to assume things the quickest because is the easiest. You do it too. These are called stereotypes. Think that Latinos are not smart enough, that males can't dress pink without being gay, and a lot of stuff that's out there. We all do it with endless cases that life can present to us...
Just go with it...
Good luck Sweety. I hope i didn't hurt you with my words.

I think boys with long hairs when theyre little (theyre usually so curly and cute!) are fine.
Some boys just look girly as toddlers. My friends both have boys, both about your sons age, one has longer hair thats blonde and curly, the other short and butch. Everyone calls them BOTH girls. My friend also has a girl, who is ALWAYS dressed in pink, and people ALWAYS call her a boy.
I dont know why people are like that... they just are. lol.

yes i know, some people are really, un-smart, i admit i have done this before,to a dog, (forgive me, you cant really tell the gender of a dog) BUT, how can you NOT tell if a KID is a boy or girl, and you are so right, boys with long hair are cute
ps, if hes only 2, how long can his hair seriously be.

It's something you'll have to contend with if you keep his hair long. My daughter was a baldy until she was about 10/11 months. She wore pink and purple and flowery things but she kept getting called a boy. I'd just laugh and roll my eyes. Who cares?
