Thist statement was made by another Y!A user. If this were the truth, why did God make a varying sets of rules for different religions? And each one states his is the true one. Is there some miscommunication going on or what?

God didn't make varying sets of rules for different religions. Man made all religions but one, and made his own rules for each. God made a set of rules for HIS religion, the one true one.

Is good to follow God's rules!

How Do You Guide Your Life? In deciding such question, some prefer definite rules that they either know or search out when needed. Others do what “feels” right according to their conscience.

Most persons think of conscience as a general sense of what is right and wrong. We have, though, a source of more exact information about it—God’s Word. The Bible helps us to appreciate that conscience is an internal witness bearer. Thus Paul said: “My conscience bears witness with me in holy spirit.” (Romans 9:1)

Conscience is not a mere social development, for the Bible shows that God implanted it in the original human pair. (Genesis 3:7, 8) Discussing the accountability of Jews and Gentiles, Paul wrote: “For whenever people of the nations [Gentiles] that do not have law do by nature the things of the law, these people, although not having law, are a law to themselves. They are the very ones who demonstrate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts, while their conscience is bearing witness with them and, between their own thoughts, they are being accused or even excused.” (Romans 2:14, 15) Yes, even peoples without a written law from God have viewed as wrong things such as murder, stealing and incest. We can see also from these verses that conscience is an interplay of the heart and the mind (“thoughts”).

God did NOT make varying sets of rules for different religions. All religions are man-made, and have set their own rules. If you want to follow God's 'rules' then read the Bible.

There is only one set of "rules"..... if you are open to the leading of God you will know them... at least all you are able to.... "religion" is a man invention... man's rules govern :"religion"... you can make any rule you want... if one other decides to follow your rule you have just started a "religion"...but God ain't got nothing to do with it....

I have no idea what sort of user said that but they are half right. God did make the rules. Trouble is none of us have lived by them. Jesus came here to make us right with God. All we have to do is be willing to except that gift of righteousness He bought for us and reach out to Him and take it... Jim

God didn't make religion, man did that all by himself.

When you come to Christ - a personal relationship with him - you love him so much, you want to follow his ways, that's all.

He is a complete gentleman and would never force anyone to follow any "rules". That's not his style.

Consequence, by sheer definition this negates the ideology of free will. A consequence is the price you pay for any choices that you make. There is absolutely no way around this.

This is a statement likely made by a narrow-minded extremely devout Christian. Take it with a grain of salt.

There's a ton of miscommunication, but it's all on the part of humans.
