I wanted to ask some guy out who works, I dont know him
if he would go for a drink with me , but the only reason I wanted to do this is just to see if I can ask a guy, and also I was thinking it will improve my skill to ask guys out,
but now Im thinking I could be wrong I dont know

There's absolutely nothing wrong with asking a guy out who you don't have feelings for. As long as you don't lead him on at all, there's no reason why you can't ask him out and go and have a good time and let that be the end of things. You may end up wanting to pursue the relationship, or maybe not. But as long as you don't make him think you want a relationship with him when you don't, I don't see any issues at all.

Great go for it. Sounds good practice if it doesn't work and you just never know if might be better than you thought!
I wonder why you have reservations? Just be cautious of your feelings as there may be a reason that you don't want to go for it.

Yes you could be wrong, asking him out. If he's a jerk he'll go around telling everyone how desperate you are for him, that's probably the worst that could happen. Honestly, I wouldn't ask a guy out even if I liked him...what's worse for me is if he likes me less than I do of him and that's going to be plain embarassing.

It's pretty acceptable to ask just about anyone out for a drink, as far as I know. "Hey, you wanna have a drink after work/tomorrow night/sometime?" Who doesn't want to have a drink?

going out with people you work is ill advised. I would try a bookstore or something less bar/work.
