A marshmallow will expand in a microwave. Put a marshmallow in a microwave and put 1 minute on the timer. It will expand to 2 times its length. But dont leave it in for longer than that, as it will start on fire!!

Honey--some scientist out there thought and asked the same question you're asking now. And, in the spirit of pure research, I give you permission to place one (1) marshmallow in your microwave and nuke the heck out of it. (I'd put it in a bowl :)

If you put it in for too long, it will just get bigger and pop. But if you put it in for like 10 seconds, it will soften. But if you don't eat it soon after, the marshmallow will get stiff...

It heats up, but what's really weird is when you try to vacuum seal a container of them. Oh, and what if you then microwaved that.
