I have an old mustang it´s a 68 one. And people always ask me if It´s for sale ( not for sale by the way). Not only Americans but hispanics, afros ,etc.
I´m really concerned about it, I Know that mustangs cars are valuables cars today, but, why ?.
I´m a 75 years old man and I wonder: Why so many insistence of people on my car?.
# vin is: 08FR021678XXXXXXXX.

You right mr. collectible, sorry, I miss the number
It should be: 8F02R1XXXXXXXX and yes, there´s a R on it. But nothing about a cobra or jet on it.

people ask you merely because they want it. Nothing more nothing less. If I seen it I'd probably want it too. My cousin has several mustangs..his pride and joy is a '65 fastback 289...you couldn't pry it from his cold dead fingers.
Just a little more info on that one...he raced it on the track...his last name is scherer...he had painted on the side...SCHERER JOY.
Any how...enjoy your car...tell them thanks but no thanks...maybe they can pick it up at the estate auction 20 yrs from now.

The vin you listed is not correct for a 68 Mustang. The first digit will be an 8 and the 5th should be a letter. If that letter is R that is a ram air cobra jet car. Mustangs are currently popular due to the rise in value of Shelby Clones. Barrett Jackson, RM auctions and the like have greatly increased the public awareness of vintage automobile.

Half of them are probably trying to get a deal from you, as it sounds like you do not know the value of you car. Maybe this will come as a surprise to you, but a 1968 Fastback Mustang with even the smallest V8 offered (the 302) has a Classic NADA Value of $32,000+ in mint condition.
The other half more than likely are just in love with it... the 60's mustang is one of the top 5 most admired cars I'd say, right next to the '69 Camaro. Everyone knows what it is, even if they don't know a thing about cars your average blonde air head can tell you its a 60's mustang.

People who need a car are looking for a cheap one. Whenever they see an old car they figure that can get it for a couple of hundred dollars. I have a car that is 44 years old, good condition, and people offer me $500 for it.

The car is rare and a lot of people would like to own it. Its nothing to be concerned about, just consider it jealousy on their part.

The askers are hoping you have no idea how much it's worth, so they can buy it for $500. and resell it for $15000.
