As somebody else mentioned, "No certain reward" .....yet that may not what i think of... i could somewhat take the possibility of No reward then not do something in any respect. To have faith in something consistent with hazard better then this existence, isn't incorrect. perhaps there isn't something after wards, yet i will take that hazard besides... and if there's a "reward", i would be lots the better off for it. If not, then i will in basic terms be the place those non believers are. So what do I lose? enable's say that Heaven grew to become into an empty promise... so what? this is a minimum of better then turning out to be a dull rock. i won't be able to sit down by ability of and think of that when I die, i will only quit to exist. not something. NADA. Nil. The previous rock and that i would be alike. And Hell, an empty risk? which would be super, for those going there. What i don't comprehend, is that if somebody has options, and between the techniques is to consistent with hazard proceed to exist after this existence, then why do they not desire that determination? because of the fact, as I see it, the only different determination isn't any existence. And in the event that they % existence and it does not ensue, they are in basic terms as undesirable because of the fact the No existence determination besides.

Why make your question specifically Christian in nature?
There are many spiritual paths that do not resort to the "empty" threat of hell or the "empty" promise of heaven.
Do some research and reading. There might be something out there that effectively expresses your spirituality. Why drop the ball at a single book?

when you were little you thought you would never get big.
If someone asked you...what do you want to be when you grow up...it seemed like such a far away dream
same with God. He tells us there will be a finality to the junk we go through on this earth...and a new (cleansed) earth will take its place he even gave us hints for what to look for to check if it was really close....hey
it is really close...there were so many prophecies fullfilled to get us to this point...God even told how something would happen and who would do it hundreds of years in advance.
he fortold the coming of jesus thousands of years in advance
Hell is the grave...we will all wind up there unless the great tribulation starts..then we won't have to die..we walk right through to paradise
Heaven.....some do go there but the greater number will live in that aforementioned paradise right here on earth
the reason to believe in God is simple...He's your father...He created you...He wants you to survive

My reason is this: I tried to live without God, not actually without Him but with out Church and worship. My life was hard. My marriage was in jeopardy. I was very unhappy and depressed. I (we, my husband and I) turned to the church and the Lord as a last ditch attempt to save our family. Guess what...with a lot of praying, our marriage is stronger than ever. We came through and our family is intact. I am very happy (most of the time) and not depressed anymore. I am not saying life is easy because it certainly is not, but it is better. That is my feelings and why it works for me. I hope that answers your question.

All the cool kids are doing it! It's rad, it's hip! Just like drugs. And smoking. They're using peer pressure to try to convert people, but I suppose that's just another good reason to not believe in god.
If you don't believe in god then I guess you don't believe in god, there's not much that can be said to change your mind, just as there's not much you can say to change a christian's mind about who god is.

Are you familiar with Paschall's Wager?
If you are right and I am wrong, then there is no Hell or Heaven. You live your way and you say you are happy in it. I live my way, and I know that I am content in the assurance of my faith. When we die we are both worm food, and everything ends for us.
But suppose that I am right, there is both a Heaven to gain and a Hell to shun. You live your way and you say that you are happy in it. I live my way, and I know that I am content in the assurance of my faith. When we die, that is not the end:
Luke 16:22-31 "Now it came about that the poor man died and he was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried. 23 "And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 "And he cried out and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue; for I am in agony in this flame.' 25 "But Abraham said, 'Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony. 26 'And besides all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, in order that those who wish to come over from here to you may not be able, and that none may cross over from there to us.' 27 "And he said, 'Then I beg you, Father, that you send him to my father's house-- 28 for I have five brothers-- that he may warn them, lest they also come to this place of torment.' 29 "But Abraham said, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.' 30 "But he said, 'No, Father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!' 31 "But he said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone rises from the dead.'"
Are you really willing to gamble that you are right and that I am wrong? What if you lose?

you know some people believe in God without either of those reasons
maybe you can begin to understand other reasons people have for believing , by taking away the biblical thinking you have about God

I'll refer you to Pascal's probablities:
according to Pascal, there are only four choices in how to live your life
god exists and you act accordingly...at death
....you are saved
god exists and you do not act accordingly...at death
....you are damned
god does not exist, but you act as if he did...at death
...it doesn't matter
god doen not exist, but you act as if he did not...at death
...it doesn't matter
so....risk/reward basis...one out of four chances that your behavior matters....form Pascal, it was a limited risk with an [infinite] high reward to believe in god....
as far as a "good" reason...nope....ain't any

No. You have to find your own reasons, or not. Don't let anyone else persuade you to think a certain way.
