Malva pudding

Ingredients
50 g butter or margarine
125 ml sugar
1 extra-large egg
15 ml apricot jam
5 ml white vinegar
250 ml cake flour
5 ml bicarbonate of soda
250 ml milk
SAUCE
1 x 410 g can evaporated milk
125 g butter
125 ml sugar
5 ml vanilla essence

Method:
Preheat oven to 180 °C. Lightly grease a medium-sized ovenproof dish.
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, beating until light and fluffy. Mix in jam and vinegar.
Sift dry ingredients and add milk, beating until smooth.
Spoon into the ovenproof dish and bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
SAUCE
Heat the evaporated milk, butter, sugar and vanilla essence in a saucepan over stove until boiling.
Pour sauce over top of pudding as soon it is taken out of the oven. Serve hot.

this is a pudding we eat in south africa, can be served on its own with cream or ice cream. its wonderful

Orange jello slad. You will need a box of orange jell-o, cottage cheese, chopped pecans, and a can of mandarin oranges. Mix dry jell-o with oranges that have been drained. Also drain your cottage cheese and mix in. Finely chop your pecans and fold them into a tub of cool whip, oh I forgot the cool whip, Mix the cool whip and pecans into everything else. Chill it before serving it. It really is good.

Well...I like to add ice cream and chocolate syrup to a glass, pour milk over it to fill the glassm, and eat with a long spoon.

dice fruits (apples, grapes, pears, pineapple work well) and add to
sweeted condensed milk, makes sort of a fruit custard

you can thicken with whipping cream if desired

buy a container of pitted dates and stuff them with cream cheese. its really good and you can fill a plate and just let people snack on it while having coffee after dinner.
