is it possible to make your rib cage slimmer? i have a 34 inch chest, and its 34 inchs down to where the ribs end. and THEN in tapers slightly. now, i dont have any ab muscles (i know, i do, but not defined in the slightest) but would that help "pull" my ribs in slightly? i am just courious. i'm 24 5'5 & 135lbs, so its not like i need to lose a lot of weight or anything, maybe 5-10lbs MAX (i have a small build and always have) but these ribs bug the crap out of me. and if i lay down, it just looks really weird. so... any ideas?

and to bmac, i just want it to not look square, more triangular... i dont know if that makes sense, just more of the tapered look.
i think i just sound dumb here. i wish i could explain it better.

=( I have the same problem. I wish my ribs would taper in rather than just be straight down. It makes me look kind of fat even though I'm not. I don't think there's anything safe we can do, but I've heard of plastic surgeons taking out lower ribs to make a person's waist look smaller, and I've seen people (weird ones) who wear a corset and that compacts their ribs, but also displaces their organs!! That's definitely not worth it. Sorry to tell ya, I think we're stuck with our bone structure!

Do you mean you measure 34 inches under the bust? You can't change your frame size, although some believe it is possible with corsetry. However, I would highly recommend that you don't attempt this, as it may be dangerous in the long-term and very damaging to your body.
Honestly, your rib cage really isn't that large and although I don't recommend losing weight, if you did lose 5lb-10lb, your rib cage would be down to 32/33 inches. HTH : )

I have the exact same problem. And ironically, we're the same weight and heighth. Pretty close in age, too. I'm 21. My ribs are something that's always bothered me, but there's nothing we can do about it. They're stuck like that. The only thing we can do is work out and deal with it. :) I know, it sucks, but we can't take a saw to them and cut them off. It's permanent. Good luck!

No. Absolutely not. Think about what you're saying.
You cannot make your rib cage smaller. Your size is perfect. Stop trying to be one of those ugly, emaciated models/actresses.

No you cannot change the width of your rib cage, it's there to protect your organs, and it's the size it needs to be.

the size of a rib cage cannot be decreased since this is primarily based on your bone structure (body frame).

Don't do what Janet Jackson did. She removed some of her ribcage bones.

Why should you care? Seeing as how you're a queer hag, it's not like any of the guys you hang out with will find you the least bit attractive.
