I am trying to create an ftp site using the 'add a new connection' wizard in My network Places. Although I follow the instructions to the letter, when I try to access it through the command window I recieve the message 'Windows cannot access this folder etc, then under details it says the server name or address cannot be resolved. I am a single user, not part of an internal network, with one standalone system, am I not doing something blatantly obvious, or do I need special software to proceed, can anyone help me please

Sometimes the wizard is a jackass and doesnot understand what you are asking for. If you want to create a website maybe you should online maybe they can give you ideas. Try create your own website.com see if this helps.

the host directory is usually labeled as www/htdocs/or public_html this is just the folder your host has defined to contain your website. It is usually one of the top 3 or you might just leave it blank depending on the host

You need some kind of webspace to store what you want on it.......you can probably buy some space from your ISP.

Hope this helps.
