and he said "hey let me know when you go...I'd like to go hiking/hunting there someday"
Does that mean he'll still be in contact with me, even though we're long distance now? He (this guy I dated for over a year) just moved back to his home town for family reasons. But I had emailed him to let him know that I'll probably be going to CO the beginning of next year. So does that mean he'll stay in contact with me up until then..when he says "someday"?
And..when should I mention it again, when I know for sure when I'm going?

My advice to you is to just come out and ask him if he is planning on meeting you there. I'm sorry, but all this thinking and wondering has to be driving you nuts. Trust me, just come out and ask him. Most guys appreciate women being straight forward with their questions. If you dated him for that long, I'm sure you will have no problem communicating with him honestly. Just to let you know, it sounds like he is planning on going at the same time in hopes of running into you. Good luck and GOD bless.

Way to much thinking on this subject. It was a casual comment. When you figure out what your plans are, tell him.
If you suspect there was more to that comment, ask him. He'll tell you if there was another reason he asked.
