No. Get your cat on medication and let him lead a normal life.

A have a (human) friend with hypothyroidism, and no matter how well she ate, she would gain weight if she wasn't on her pills. The pills are 100% necessary to a normal life. NEVER treat your pet for an illness without listening to what a vet says.

Feline hypothyroidism is rare in cats. Usually, they develop hyperthyroidism.

Hypothyroidism in pets is usually treated by administering a daily dose of synthetic thyroid hormones; however, this may result in too much thyroid hormone in the body, resulting in hyperthyroidism because it is often difficult to determine exactly how much of the synthetic hormones are needed for optimal thyroid functioning. There are herbal remedies sold (http://www.nativeremedies.com/petalive/thyro-pet-hypothyroid-holistic-treatment.html), but take it with a grain of salt.

First of all take your car to a vet. If you can't afford that take him or her to a cat welfare agency and give it to them to keep. You hold the life of a living, loving creature in your hands and if you can't afford to protect that life give it up. What if it were you that was sick would you want your parents asking in a chat room the same thing you just asked here? Grow up and give it up until you DO grow up.

give the cat a vitamin and herb cat food, and at least in a two week period, check his urine and sugar levels, its the only way to extend the life of the cat,i am sorry that your cat has that, i cant offer anything more. can tell you to see to it to keep him/her alive, do not feed the cat house food and do keep him in and always with water fresh available, i can only hope it will help.

Pills, definitely. It's not just weight, either. If you research the thyroid, you will find that it has something to do with every function in your body.
