Genital warts come from a virus called HPV. Women get this virus and it attacks their cervix and causes Cervical Cancer. Usually what happens with Genital Warts is they burn them off.

No they have to be burned off with electric shocks or chemicals. Most people find that they rarely reoccur after the first time they are successfully treated but it is still possible to have an outbreak years later. It is inconclusive as to whether or not you can pass HPV on to a partner when the warts are not present.

If the warts are external, then yes the prescription drug Aldara can cure them. Aldara is a cream that triggers the body's own immune system to destroy the warts. It is classified as an immune modifier which is a new way to treat numerous skin conditions. Aldara also works great on small basal and squamous cell carcinomas. Initially your skin will look irritated and red. This is your immune system starting to work. The entire process takes about 6 weeks.

I had a minor outbreak once a long time ago. Turned out my partner was a carrier. However, we took care of it and I've never had anything happen since. I've even had other lovers and nothing happened to them (yes, I informed them) so I'm not convinced I ever "had" it, ya know?
Anyway, talk to your Doc! That's the best advice!
