I see all these television personalities wearing it on the left side of the sternum, and all this time, I've been wearing it on the right. Does it really matter?

Etiquette dictates that the poppy be worn as close over the heart as practicable, though originally it was informally clipped behind the cap badge of the military members picking them off the fields of France and Flanders. The Canadian military did so for years, then oddly chose its current position over the heart.

i imagine that is the left yet as long as everybody is remembering those infantrymen who've given their lives in warfare for our us of a and respecting the sacrifices that persons have made - then it doesn't count number a lot which area the poppy is worn on. The remembering is the genuine area.
