It all depends on the base really. You will most likely get a two bedroom appartment thats about 900 sqft. You can also apply for off post houseing and they will give you BAH or Basic Allowance for Houseing which is money they give you for a house depending on the area plus the troppers rank determines the amount you get a month. My suggestion is buy a house then you can retain that money rather than renting and leaveing with nothing.

DON'T DO IT, my husband is in the Air Force and their supposed to have the best housing, ( heard the army is worse) military housing is made to save money so the way many of the houses are set up are very inconvenient, me and my husband lived on base for a year some of the things are: no carpeting, more like hospital room flooring, washer and dryer was in the kitchen!?! not in a closet, just out in the kitchen! and the bathroom was as big as a half bath!
i would definately suggest living off base, the military gives you a base housing allowance (BAH) this is extra money that will pay for your off base apartment/townhouse/house, we live off base in Charleston SC and its much better then on base, plus you have to remember the speed limit in base is 30 mph and 5 mph in residential zones so it takes you FOREVER to get somewhere, and if your in the Air Force you get to hear planes taking off all the time, good luck, if you need anymore help you can e-mail me at jessicarhoton@yahoo.com :)

Yeah, I've heard Air Force housing is a lot better than say.. Army lol. My hubby is Navy, working on an Army base, and our house is horrible. Granted we're living in a house that was built in the 70's, but paint is chipping off the walls in huge chunks everywhere, and when we put a work chit in for it, they just slap more paint over the top... starts peeling away a few weeks later. The layout of the housing we are in does nothing but waste space.. could just be the base we are living on.. but still. I hope no other base is as bad or worse. >.>

I'm an Army wife and there is a website that gives listing of Housing and Rentals Off Post. I would live Off Post. We have always done that. Depending on your BAH, you could have a little extra each pay day. And my husband likes to get away from work, not live right by it. Try Automated Referral Housing Network, or ARHN.com. Good luck!!

"Wow and to think a long time ago, pit bull terriers were fighting beside soldiers. Now they are banned. " I ditto that thought. I can't remember the dogs name, but he helped find injured soliders, alerted his humans when the other side was trying to ambush them, things like that. But yeah, let's ban a breed of dog that worked along side our soliders. Awesome. Is this already in effect or can we write and tell the legistlators we disagree?

go to our communities then communities

but also know you get bah (basic allowance for housing) and that is different for each base but it is about the avg for an appt. in the area, and that is for off post. if you go on post they take that back.
