I filed chapter 7 this Nov.this year in Ohio..All I had was hospital bills when I filed bankruptcy no back taxes nothing like that.My daughter has epilesy and autism so I had alot of hospital bills.With all that said do you think I will get back all my income taxes when I go filing in January for income taxes..some of you tryed to help me befor but you did know what chapter i filed or if I had back taxes. can you help.please..christy

Hi, i'm Vera, my ex fiance and myself filed chapter 7 six years ago it didn't affect out income tax returns in any way. chapter 7 means you totally turn everything in you owe on so you're free and clear other than your credit rating......lol I'm in N.C. and not sure about the laws there but here thats the way it is anyhow. If you asking if the medical bills that you bankrupted on are somehow deductable, the answer is: NO.

Medical Bills that you pay are deductable if you itemize but if you didn't pay them, there is no deduction.

Other than that, there is not enough info to determine what you will get back (ie. Income, Number of Dependents, Filing Status, Withholding, EIC Qualifications). Personally, I wouldn't list all that here. Go talk to a tax person in your area.

you may have to pay ordinary income tax on canceled debts exceeding $600.00. unless you are completely insolvent at the time of the BK
