If you are asking if you are depressed you most likely are. Ask another adult or mental health clinic to help you. You deserve to feel your better. You are not what happened in the past but the adventure of the future. Today is a mystery: yesterday is history.
Life is worthwhile and always changing.

There are no "side effects." There are DIRECT EFFECTS. Such as not wanting to be around others. Not wanting to visit anyone, even best friends - NO ONE!!! While your alone, you don't do yourself any more good than being miserable than being with someone, so - both ways your equally miserable. You don't want to bathe regularly, watch tv, read a book, go outside, in short, you have NO INTERESTS. You just don't care . . . about anything or anyone.

You may start eating, after all the only time you feel anything is when you eat something and "feel great from feeling full." Or cut yourself because the only time you feel alive is when you "destress" from the cut. Then you feel "alive" for a few minutes. Then a few minutes later, numb again.

There are many different side effects (or, I am assuming you mean signs) of depression, including lethargy, feelings of hopelessness, sexual dysfunction and memory loss. Here is a website that lists the signs of depression, and one that discusses depression and how to find help if you are feeling depressed:
