It isn't so much that you have lost your happy mask ;
it is if you think it should always be on.
If you have been depressed before then you know what to expect and what to do. If you are just in a slump that will pass in time and you can try to get by best you can by staying active and doing things for your self esteem.
Please, say more. I'm not sure what you want or need right now.

I feel for you please go see your doctor. I also have bouts of depression and i feel better when i take something to help me. You should do the same. Sometimes it will not go away for a long time is is ok to need some help. We all do at times. Some ppl let it go and think they will get through it but sometimes they do not. Even if you just go talk to your Dr. He will know what is best for you after he talks to you. Hope the best for you : ) Oh yes you could also read this book in Psalms it always helps me to feel better.

get put on an anti depressant. i went through the same thing, and i did it without an anti depressant, i was like that for about 7 or 8 months, and i'm still going through it. but i'm diagnosed as a very depressed person. i think either religion or medication or both helps a lot. or maybe you're not busy enough. i know i'm a happier person when i have things to do

Go see someone and get some help to work through what is bothering you. If you aren't ready for that try a book called Feeling Good by David Burns.

Although it is not a question it made me laugh because I use my Happy Mask often when in public. It's my poor family who knows I've lost it...
If you are truly depressed, see your doctor, talk with a friend or counsellor, get exercise, get off the computer. Hmmm, that reminds me, I need to log off! lol

What ever is bothering.you. ... you need to do things different.
Go with Friends, visit them do things together. just get out and have fun. force that smile and laugh..
Do something good for your self that you haven't done in a while.
Think about how good you felt being happy and how bad you feel being sad. feeling happy will out weigh feeling bad..

Wow, talk about (some) rude replies!
I would not recommend meds. because they just repress your negative emotions without dealing with them. I highly recommend a competent psychologist.
Have you tried 5htp or GABA? they work as a natural antidepressant without the negative side effects.
