Of course it is. It gives you the chance to get to know the person without any kinda of judgement based on looks. I met my fiancee online, and now we are getting married in June.

Anything is possible and I met my husband of three years on line. For a little while all we did was chat...phone, and eventually we started flying from one state to another to hang out. After about three trips up north...I convinced him to come down south here with me. We spent some time getting to know one another....facial expressions, smell, etc.. things you can't just tell one another about and we fell in love. This man I would walk to the ends of the earth for, but it took getting to know him in every sense. Chatting or texting just starts the relationship. At least we are able to communicate well. When we have disagreements we sometimes do it over the computer lol for old time sake. Arguments are much easier that way!!

I'd say no. You know why? Because although either or even both parties may feel that those feelings are real, they are more likely than not based on inaccurate information. We all know there are people who tell outright lies about themselves on-line, but due to human nature, even a person who tries to be honest may unconsciously make themselves look better than they really are, or hide what they really are. The best way for mutual feelings to develop is by face to face meeting, on a long-term basis. Be careful.

It is possible to develop feelings for someone over the internet! But you've always got to remember that arguably personalities online can appear to seem different to real-life identities. As the internet and internet profiles enable people to form an identity they could wish to have to appeal to or attract other people as apposed to what they could really be like. In this case in order to appeal to the opposite sex :) But, if you feel this person is genuine, then I suggest you be careful and I wish you all the best. But in answer to your question, yes you can I guess develop feelings to what you believe this person is like, whether it's through appearance or the interests they show online. It is possible. All the best, and take care.

It is a very good question,I can say this,my current relationship was established over 18 months of letters and sporadic phone calls through the prison system. And I am happier then I have ever been.So yes ,I believe is your answer.

Absolutely! I'm guilty of the same thing. Too often too quickly.

HOWEVER...Be aware of predators (I'm not sure how old you are). Don't meet a single soul without someone else. NEVER go alone. Learn from the many mistakes of children that are still missing!! OK?

It's possible, but you are both playing with fire if you don't share pics and see what each other looks like. It's sad when you get attached and then see a pic-then he takes off or something like it-really hurts peoples feelings.

Sure but it is highly dangerous and the other person would have no problem lying to you or doing things behind your back. Net dating is not only dangerous but its kinda stupid. Wouldnt you want the comfort of having the person you care for be in your real life?

Is it possible? Yeah, it happens every damned day. Is it real? Sure. Is it practical? No. Text chatting makes EVERYONE seem more interesting, more mysterious, more attractive. Real life is different.
