my boyfriend has been acting somewhat distant lately, he attributes it to his heavy course load at college. I feel like he has lost interest in me but he says that is not the case. They may be another girl in the picture and he could be cheating but I have no proof. I gave him a card today with a note telling him "noticed you seem to be distracted, hope my friend is ok,good luck on your paper" and I gave him a 10 dollar starbucks card. I feel like may be pulling away and wanted to make a small effort that shows I care. When I saw him today he looked nicer than usual, and tried to give me a kiss on the cheek. I told him to open the card later when he felt like it. What do you think about this situation.
When I left he gave me a hug with a pat on the back? I have tried asking him before what is wrong and he says he has alot on his mind
What is going on here???

You maybe. Guys are diffrent than we are. When they are going through things they withdraw. When we are going through things we talk. Just give him some space and let him come to you. Give it some time. Be really observant and wait for him to either tell you what is going on with him or make the decision to end the relationship. Either way it goes you won't look like or feel like the victim.

Are you in college as well? Do you go to his school? How often do you guys see one another?
If you see each other quite often, then he might just be busy if he schooling is hard. If you do not see each other often, if he body movements change (ie: he doesnt kiss you, hug you the same way he did when you guys were fine) then something is probably up.
If you do not see one another often, then he quite possibly could have found interest in someone else and doesnt know how to tell you.
If i were you: I would ask him directly, "are you into someone else?" Just asking him will tell you. You need to be up front with him and tell him that he needs to break up with you if that is what he wants, but dragging you on is not the answer.
I can not tell you what is going on because im not there. But from what ive read, you are doing nothing wrong. Just ask him to be up front with you.
He might just be having a hard time with school. If he is in engineering/law/med school, these schools take a lot of time to study.

he's cheating, when they change their mood out to left field they are focusing their attention to someone else.....been there done that!
