first tattoos are permanant, so if you really want one, you better make sure you still want it when you are 50 or 60 years old too.
If you get one, how in the world do you expect them to put it on your back if you don't take off your shirt? Tattoos go on the skin, not on your shirt. So yes, you have to take off your shirt.
Plus, you know what they call a back tattoo? A Tramp Stamp.

i have one on my lower back and i only had to lift my shirt up to the middle of my stomach. however it depends on where you get it and how big it is. plus i was leaned over while he did it so it wasnt like i was flashing my body to anyone watching. maybe wear a tank top or spaghetti strap shirt for easy access to your back while still keeping your breasts covered, or request to sit on the chair backwards if possible where your breasts are facing the back of the chair and hopefully a wall if you have to take your shirt off. either way, if its a small tattoo it shouldnt take long to do and most artists can make the room private for you. if your still worried, bring something to cover you up or go when its not busy like when they first open on a weekday or something, and dont go alone. then the person with you can at least be a shield from any on lookers.

Depends on how high on your back. If it is the typical lower back thing then they will just lift your shirt up. I would wear something you don't really care about cause the ink & blood can ruin a nice shirt. I do suggest low rise jeans so the waist band isn't in the way as well.

I've got 4 tattoo's on my back,2 at the top & 2 at the base,i didn't take my top off for any of them.Wear somthing that you can easily roll up or hold up if it's at the base or a vest type top if it's going on your shoulder area.Good luck!

Okay sweet cake, if you aren't shameless enough to take your shirt off in front of a total stranger, what makes you ready for a tattoo in a place that would require taking your clothes off?

It depends where the tattoo will be....I have one on my lower back, and I only had to lift my shirt-off. Now, if you are getting it smack on the middle, then yes, you might have to.....

Don't worry, they just roll the shirt up so they can do the tattoo.

It depends on where the tattoo is going on your back and what kind of a top you wear. Just wear something skimpy, like a halter and you won't hafta worry.
