my potential boyfriend said that we should hang out alone anymore because we lack self control..which is completely true, but when we hang out in a group hes a dick trying to be the funny guy gets a bit drunk, shows off.. thats why i like spending time with him alone because hes sweet, kind and so much fun..
why does he have to be like that?have you experienced this?

He's a wise guy! It's unwise for unmarried young people (I'm assuming you're young) to isolate themselves, especially if they are attracted to each other. About the other behaviour, showing off is NEVER a good quality. But it's for you to decide.

Typical of guys until they get to be about 30 - 35. Don't have sex with him, no matter how nice he is when you two are alone. If he is a dick when his friends are around, take it for what it is worth and ditch his sorry ***. If you stay, you allow him to treat you and other women this way. Go find someone with some respect. It is possible in guys under 30, just not quite as common as in older guys.

sounds like his is compensating for something else when he is around other people. I would move on and find someone who is the same whether he is with you or a group.
