I have a 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport and the "backup" lights don't turn on when I put the transmission in reverse. I heard there is a switch that controls this...my question is: where is this switch at and how do I get to it? Thanks!

Check the fuse and the bulbs before you replace anything expensive.

I found a lot of help on jeep forums dot com or something like that. The forums are excellent.

I have a similar problem on my 97. In addition, sometimes my headlights go out when I use the turn signal. After taking it to the shop to be looked at, I was told I needed a new turn signal combo switch. Evidently, pretty much all the lights go through this switch. I am ordering one now online (for about $60 vs the $120 the shop wanted). Let me know if you would like me to contact you and let you know how it goes.
