If you already have a valid, legal copy of Windows XP installed on your PC, you don't need a key.

The installation process of Internet Explorer 7.0 goes through a process of validating the copy of Windows installed on your PC. If your copy is valid, it installs. If you have an illegal copy, it doesn't.

Microsoft is cutting back on support to illegal copies of their products. Across all of their products you will see a validation process for any updates or add-ons.

If you don't have a valid copy of Windows but want all the new bells and whistles, I suggest you fork out some cash and buy a legal copy.

If you have a legal copy, you know for sure it's legal, and you can't get it to validate, check out the support section on the Microsoft website. Support calls for this type of problem are free.

If you already have windows xp installed with service pak 2 The New IE 7 will install without a key # but that is only if you have a leagal registerd copy of windows in your PC. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx to get the IE 7 download. I hope this helped. Mikie.

Do not come here asking for free illegal keys.
You will need to buy XP Pro for you to use the IE7 because Microsoft have validation scripting in their new software - that prevents people (maybe like you) from stealing software for illegal copies of XP.

It is common sence...
