If it has been documented that the patient needs one the closest medical equipment sales and rental outfit should be able to fix you up with one. My Dad had a Hoyer lift here in his home. He had Parkinson's and some other serious Orthopedic problems so the Dr. recommended one so the attendants wouldn't break their back trying to move him. With the Dr.s recommendation Medicare picked up the rental with his private insurance taking care of the rest. He did not have to pay at all for it. It was a manual one though but, it worked just as good. We could not have kept him at home without it.

Most durable medical equipment companies sell these. You can do an internet search for this and see if any are close to your area. Some sites are www.valuemedicalsupplies.com and www.spinlife.com has where you can save 25% and offers free shipping. Also if this is needed you may be able to go through the insurance company.

I would suggest asking your doctor where to order one from. My dad is paraplegic and we had to have special equipment... including a hospital bed at one time for him. He goes through medical equipment stores for all of his supplies.

I would also recommend calling hospitals and medical equipment stores. They are usually very helpful in situations like this. Or you might even try a nursing home for information on where to order it. Out of all of these places someone in your area is bound to know where to find one. They may even have other suggestions for you. Good luck and take care.

You can buy them right over the Internet--from less than 1000 for manual, hydraulic ones to several thousand for state-of-the-art electric ones.

Just google it--I'm not sure which kind you need.
