Should I send my ex a friendly simple text saying happy birthday? The thing is we were together for 1 yr and 1/2 and it did not end good. He's that one special person that will always have a piece of my heart that I will never forget for as long as I live (my first true love) and I know its the same with me for him. We havent been together for 3 months and havent seen eachother or talked. Except he did text happy b day on mine. Should I text him or just keep on truckin along. Im 21 by the way.

Yes, send him one! I did something similar years ago when my now husband and I had split up....just to be nice...not thinking much of it...it was that small gesture that made him realize just how much I meant.... and slowly....our contact grew until we figured it all out!!

Definitely do it...it could be just a sweet gesture...it could end up being even better than that :)

Send him a Happy Birthday...things don't have to stay bad between the two of you. You two can always become great friends again if you take time out to talk and let whatever happened between yall go. I think he still cares for you since he sent a happy b-day to you. Just do the same for him. Let him know that you'll always care for him no matter what even if some other girl makes him happy or if he falls for her. Just be a good friend...

Are you clear on your feelings for him knowing that he doesn't feel the same for you? If you are clear on your feelings and can respect and live with his decision (not that you have a choice) that you are not that special person for him then I say send it. What's the worst that can happen? He says thanks or nothing at all. Regardless of what he says, KEEP TRUCKING!!! There is no reason why you shouldn't have that special someone return those feelings to you. Your never too young or old for that matter to go look for that person. They may even come to you ;) Happy Belated B-Day!!

A little text couldn't hurt. Even though it didn't end on the best terms, if you still care about him, there's no reason you should have to hide the fact that you want him to be happy. Go for it!

there is nothing wrong with being friends with an ex. I say go for it, text him..its not a commitment to anything..its a nice simple gesture that says...happy birthday, and that you still remember.

The only problem with texting is he may think you want him back. If you are willing to take that risk then go for it! If you think it will send the wrong message, maybe you shouldn't. Either way, good luck!!

yes, text him happy b-day just b/c its nice. and he did it. My first true love and I call on our birthdays and thats it. We talk twice a year I call on his and he calls on mine. As long as there isn't a girlfriend or boyfriend that will get too jealous.

sendiong that text is opening up a door of which he can walk through or not,,,thing is,,,it will get to you either way,,,if he answers nicely,,then no problem,,,if he doesn't you will be hurt...if he does and then things get back to the way they were,,,then what good is that. Leave it alone
