My b/f and I went through the same thing. He felt guilty that he wasnt spending enough time with me. Then he kept saying that I was too good for him and that he didnt deserve me. He didnt want me wasting my time for him.
We have been together for 6 years, starting a family next year and we have had our house for 3 years.
Give it time. Don't push him but have a nice long conversation about this. COmmunication is the Key.

He's thinking he doesn't want to feel guilty about such a nice niave girl sitting around waiting on him. He is not interested in you more than his job and he is honest enough to have cut you loose. Move on and find another MAN, this one isn't it for you! Good luck!

You seem very clear about what you want...dont let him change you. Sounds like he has a hidden agenda. You could challenge him about his reluctance to respond if you haven't already done so. Make sure you explain clearly without judgement who you ARE and WHAT you need.
But my advice is cut your losses and find someone who wants the same as you, and values you for who you are, not what you could be.
Good luck! X

Just go wtih the flow, don't talk to him for a few days, and see what happens, sounds like he does like you, but he is unsure of him self and what he does for a living..........get on with your life and enjoy it, remain friendly with this guy, and your never no in the future you may get back together, men are strange, will most of them..........good luck and god bless.

I don't really think he is interested, and is using his job as an excuse - it would be better for him to be honest, but he doesn't have the guts. I would back off a little and bring some distance, and only then will you know if he really is interested.
