It's all about love, about a love so great that the Son of God left His Father's presence to enter this evil world and die a very painful death for us. It's teaches about forgiveness, and praying for others even when they are cruel to you. How is that bad? You cannot deny that love and forgiveness is a good thing. And it teaches against sin, against lying, murdering, stealing, etc, etc... And you can't tell me that those things are bad. So what is so bad about christianity? What do you see in it that is wrong?

I believe it is because Christianity is true, and so the devil tries to turn people away from it and hate it. And yes, some "Christians (can we even really call them true Ctristians?" have made mistakes, but no religion or group of people has a clean record. People are people and some make mistakes

Because any religion that is forced upon those who do not agree will get a bad rap, and rightly so.

While it may be true that the Bible preaches all the good things you mentioned, there are those who interpret so much literally as a handy means to exclude entire classes of people from full participation in life--e.g. passing laws against gays, denying women leadership positions in various church organizations, etc.

It's fine to believe what you believe--freedom of religion is a worthy goal when it applies to personal worship--but when your beliefs are written into secular law with the lame excuse that today's intolerant neo-conservatives are somehow the true descendants of our Christian founding fathers--that's where I start to protest.

Maybe Buddhism is the only one to get it right....i.e. keep your nose out of other people's affairs, and the only conduct you should should be responsible for regulating is your own.

So we would desire to continuously stand right here and BE killed, for the reason it is effective, huh? enable me bathe my enemies with love and open my palms to them so they might plant bombs in undemanding colleges and unfold their poisonous ideology of hatred between people who're maximum impressionable. Get actual. non secular fanatacism and hatred are actual. that's a tragic fact, even though that's a fact. you comprehend, at a similar time as i'm at it, why are you quoting the previous testomony? that would probably in effective condition better in case you have been asking in case you're able to be a solid Jew and be a soldier. So lemme see -- does Israel have any issue filling this is military? Hmmm... Why not evaluate John 15:13? "better love hath no guy than this, that a guy lay down his existence for his buddies." isn't that what squaddies do? that's a stupid question. i ask your self how briskly SweetBrunette could exchange her song if somebody blew up HER homestead and disenchanted her My tremendously Pony playworld fact... If it ability i won't be able to salary conflict against our enemies and be a Christian on a similar time, so be it. i assume i will only ought to ask God for forgiveness once I end.

The theory of christianity is great; it's the way some people practice it that causes resentment. Jesus was a man of peace; unfortunately, a great many of his followers believe otherwise. For instance, a great many supremacist groups claim to be devoutly christian (e.g. the Klu Klux Klan). More atrocities and deaths have been committed in the name of Jesus than were commited in the name of Hitler.

Also, Christianity has been greatly influenced by the Catholic Church, whose faults and hypocrisies are legion. Other christian denominations were never directly connected with the crusades, the Spanish Inquizition, the turning a blind eye to the victims of the holocaust, or the greed, nepotism and venality associated with the Vatican over the centuries, but the stigma still influences people's thoughts whether it is consciously or not.

My main problem with christianity is the fact that many or most of its followers look down on others as inferior, simply due to the fact that they have been baptised a christian.

I had an annoying experience with a born-again christian who made it his pet project to "save my soul". He would actively proselytize and continually was trying to convert me over a span of several months. Finally, one morning I snapped; I responded to his daily statement of "Good morning, Jesus loves you," by saying, "Jesus was a nice Jewish boy, just like me. I'm sure he loves me, but he thinks you're a schmuck."

I am not against Christianity. I don't think that it is bad.

However, this is what I see wrong with PARTS of it:

1) Some Christians (SOME) take it too far and insult and criticize people that aren't Christian. I respect the fact that you are a Christian. You have the right to believe what you want. However, don't cast judgement on me because I choose not to. It's a free country.

2) SOME Christians teach and are taught to discriminate against homosexuals. That's fine and dandy that you think it's wrong. But again, your rules do not dictate what is right and wrong in our FREE country, so let them love and be loved without your evil words getting crammed down their throats.

3) Not understanding that Atheists are not worshiping the devil or thinking we are ignorant. In fact, we are quite intelligent (most of us at least). We choose to not believe because we are mostly scientific minds that need more than "faith" to base our beliefs. We don't believe in the devil, god, jesus, heaven, or hell. We can't get offended by people dooming us to their hell, but we do get offended when people act as if we are beneath them.

Everyone is equal. Just as many people in the world hate Christianity as people hate Atheists, Wiccans, Jews, Muslims, etc.

So, please stop generalizing and making it seem as if Christianity is a victim. We are all victims of hate and discrimination. If you really want to make a difference and teach people something within your religion, teach tolerance, acceptance, and love for ALL HUMANS!!!!!!!

I see 3 reasons for apposing Christianity.

1. They simply don't believe it. If I didn't believe in anything supernatural, and someone tried to explain God, I would be extremely skeptical.

2. Many Christians are hypocrites. I think the dcTalk song got it right when they said that the biggest cause of atheism is Christians who acknowledge God with their lips, but deny him by their lives. This is why the Bible is very clear on not associating with people who call themselves Christians, but obviously don't believe it. We often leave them alone thinking it is love, when in fact we leave them to sin without repentance, while letting the nature of their lives slander God to unbelievers.

3. Some people are just evil. Many people believe in God, but like the devil, refuse to live a moral life. They oppose Christianity, because it tries to tell them how to live. We should not blame people who don't believe for this. After all, why should someone follow the rules of a religion they don't believe? People who do believe and still refuse are evil.

Love, you're going to have to realize that it's not about us (Christians). There are people who hate God, hate the idea of God, and hate the fact that we believe a God exist. Anything we say FOR Christ, they'll say AGAINST. Don't you realize it's spiritual warfare and it's not even about us? (Ephesians 6:12) They don't know us personally, so it has to be the message. A message that we didn't even come up with, but because of God's LOVE, He gave us a desire to know Him and seek Him. They're not trying to know God. Don't worry about it. It doesn't really matter what anyone else believes. It's what you believe in your heart. God said it would be so and it is. Just know for yourself and put on the whole Armour of God, because as you can see, we need it.

Because most Christians don't practice Christianity, which would be "living Christ-like." Instead, they grandstand on His name and insist that their bigoted, hostile, judgmental, narcissistic, dangerous ways are "Christianity." Look around.

May I also bring attention to the hypocrisy of your own definition: "It's all about love, about a love so great that the Son of God left His Father's presence to enter this evil world and die a very painful death for us." If it's all about love, why did a Father send His only son to die an agonizing death? That is comparable to the KKK which lynches innocents, in order to send a message of fear to others. Not "love": ABUSE.

Because:
...most people are just pretending to be Christian, rather than being the real thing.
...it disrespects women and nature.
...it does not support the love between people unless that love falls under its definitions of love.
...it has been the inspiration and the reasoning behind the murder of millions.
...it does not allow for people to have free will; just for them to be sheep following the herd.
...more women have died under worse torture for their beliefs in the name of Christianity, so what makes one man so special?
...it is not just love and forgiveness in the Bible; there is alot of pain and suffering too.
...the Bible, the very basis of the religion, wasn't written by Christians. (Jews, than pagan Romans)
...the only time I have ever heard of love in Christianity is when you happen to live only by what it says in the Bible; deviation is not allowed.

If I think of anything else, I'll add it later.

You tried to show love though, I have to give you that. I support love, more than anything else. Love is what matters most in the world.

You say these words like they have no meaning. Your God requires the shedding of blood before he forgives. And those that do not properly flatter him and his son, he roasts alive in eternal torture. Love? I wouldn't do something that monstrous to someone who murdered my entire family, let alone to a child who broke my rules against eating shrimp. Your God is an egotistical tyrant and a monster whose prophet Moses ordered the slaughter of women and children taken prisoner in war. I'm sorry, but we have very different notions of love and forgiveness. What you call love and foregiveness makes Saddam Hussein look like a humanitarian by comparison to your imaginary deity.
