The Romans did some great constructive things. They were an imaginative bunch. And they were also the masters of some rather suspect practises, weren't they?

It's not at all surprising. Ever heard of Roberto Calvi? He was the chief at the Vatican Bank until his "suicide" by hanging from a London bridge in 1982. (How exactly does one ties one's own hands behind the back while strangling to death from the *underside* of a bridge?) His death has all the known traits of a mafia execution.

Why was Calvi murdered? Because he knew the intimate details of the land flipping that the catholic cult and the mafia conspired in. (Land flipping is where two people sell property to each other back and forth at higher and higher prices. Then they sell it to some chump for an inflated value when it's really worth much less, but they've got paperwork.) The catholic cult profited tens of millions of dollars by collaborating with the mafia.

Incidentally, then cardinal Paul Marcinkus (of Chicago) was given refuge in the vatican until the statute of limitations ran out in the US. He was wanted for trial because of his involvement in the land flipping. Wojtyla, the pedophile pope, let him stay safe instead of making him face justice (in the same way the vatican protected pedophiles).

If you don't believe me, just enter the names into Google and see what results you get:

"Roberto Calvi"
"Paul Marcinkus"
"vatican"
"land flipping"

"Ruby" blathered some crap about "christians and brutality don't mix."

Oh yeah? So the crusades, nazis, KKK, inquisition, and terrorists like James Kopp and Eric Rudolph aren't christians? Try again, Ruby...or should I say, *rube*.

This merely shows you that no one is perfect; be it those who are religious, in government or in crime. The ideology behind Christianity though persued relentlessly during the medieval times, can be looked at positively in the 21st century.
With or without suspect practises, Christianity has taught us to be forgiving, hence we forgive those who pursued Christianity with brutal force and look towards the future hoping many will convert willingly.

Actually, the "Mafia" idea began with the Greek city-states. The larger city-states would go to their smaller neighbors and say to them, "You're going to give us 200 sacks of grain, 20 goats and 30 men for our army on the third day of the full moon every month. In return, we'll protect you if some other city-state tries to invade you. If you don't give us what we ask, we're going to march in here, kill every man we see, rape your women and take them for our own and sell all your children into slavery and take what want anyway. So what's it going to be?"

Talk about an offer you can't refuse. Rome really wasn't all that creative. Their pantheon, their architecture and their government were all lifted from other cultures in the area. But their amusements couldn't be beat! How 'bout them lions?

the romans may have spread christianity but your question should of been why are we tolerated muslims to dictate the rules that we abide laws we have to follow in every other cultur or civilisation . religion comes in cycles all are barbaric the jews persecuted the christians for believing wat they believed was right the christians then went on to do the same to many cultures including the jews now is the muslims turn why do we not live in a society that is free to say what you want and just live as individuals ans accept that . everyone is different love should play a greater part than religion or hate which always comes with the perceptions of many reigious fanatics

The Government is the ones who purposely brought in the Mafia, to blame the blacks for drugs, because they were fighting for their rights and winning, So our Government as usually does things the corrupted way.

Are you say the Romans and mafia are connected? Could be both of them were very good at seeing a goal and pursuing it at any cost.

Don't confuse the acts of the Roman Catholic Church with modern day Biblical Christians. Said Christian's eyes were opened when King James got the Bible into the hands of common folk, after 1611 AD.

Peace.

Just because someone claims to be something does not make them that. Just because someone posts on the Internet does not make it true. Just because the new media says something does not make is so. Just because talk show take a stand on something does not make it real. Just because celebrities use their public image to push for something does not make it right....just because....(be careful....when one speaks to fast what he knows is exposed for what it is worth)
