I don't think it's a case of that many people converting to Islam. It seems to me that Muslims have been here for ages and that world events of the last 10 years have thrust them into the spotlight.

I don't think the US is becoming Islamic. I also don't necessarily like to define our country by religion. Yes, we were built on Christian values, but from the start we have embraced FREEDOM of religion.

I'm a Muslim and i think America has a long, long, long way to go before it could be considered Islamic. Why is it sad to see people converting to Islam? I'm not sad when someone becomes a catholic or a christian its there business why should i be sad because they are not coming to my faith? Have you ever seen an Islamic culture? if so you would know America is far from it. And as a follower of Islam it is of no interest to me if America becomes Islamic or not (which i don't see happening) be serious. That's not to say that Muslims in America should not be free to practice there faith and live there if they choose. To become Islamic you would have to follow Islam for a start. And trust me there is no one but no one trying to convert you is there?? Its not part of our religion to knock peoples door trying to convert them....doesn't happen. So as a devout christian I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. The majority of Muslims never want to set foot in America never mind live there.

First, no, the U.S. is not becoming Islamic.

Second, the U.S. is not Christian. It is a wonderful state where people are free to follow whatever religion they believe in their hearts is the right answer for them, so long as said religion doesn't involve harm to others or breaking laws. So, if people are finding that Islam is where their hearts go, why is that sad? People convert to Christianity from other religions all the time---is that sad, too?

I believe that we all need to respect one another's rights to find and follow our own faith---because your brother isn't responsible for your soul, YOU are. It's one of the most personal and sacred choices anyone can make; no one should have the power to dictate the choice to you. Thankfully, that is the premise our government here in the U.S. was founded upon.

No we are a melting pot. Trying to Blend all together. There use to be a foundation (not necessarily religion) that as a person became a naturalized citizen they had to learn and adhere to....some of that is still there but it is becoming weaker and weaker.....not necessarily a good thing.....need to have some form of an identity to be a strong whole....example would be a football team whose players just did whatever they felt like....it may work occasionally but in the long run fails.....been shown over and over again.

Watch more South Park. America is not converting to Islam. Not that it matters any more than it converting to Catholicism. There is no State Religion, and Islam is not the hate-mongering fanatical religion that the media portrays it as.

I don't think that America as a whole is converting to Islam. I just think that we take a lot more notice now then we did before 9/11. I am a Christian and I believe that true Islam is okay, just don't try to force it on me like the radicals do. Convert or die!

As long as Islam is believed to be a peaceful religion people will convert. Yes I have studied Islam and I know what it really stands for. I'm from Virginia and as long as my gun-toting friends have their guns, nobody is going to force us to change.

I'm not seeing a conversion to Islam, and then there is the whole thing about apostacy, so you might want to go over, but they might not accept you
