you can still run your game or infact any software. Jus follow these instructions:
1. Install the software.
2. In the "Program Files" folder find the executible file that starts the software.
3. Right Clik on it and goto
Properties>>Compatibility
Check on compatibility mode and choose your operating system.
Now your software will work as if it was workin on Windows 98 or 95.

Windows Vista is the worst OS ever to come from Microsoft after 3.0!
As for your question, no all games work on XP, most games will but I will first check if its mentioned on the Box/Cover. There are also some emulators around that could run a Windows 98 or 95 environment on XP. These emulators the last resource if you need to buy 98 or 95 games.

I problem with running windows 95/98 games on an XP computer is that 95/98 is designed using the FAT32 file system, and they started using the NTFS file system with windows 2000 (possibly even windows ME, not sure). If its a windows based game, running the compatibility wizard MIGHT help... if its a dos-based game, like Doom or Duke Nukem 3d, chances are even lower, as there is no DOS Support in XP operating system. If you need to play DOS games, i can recommend "Dosbox" (just google it) its like an emulator to run them on your XP machine. Also, you can google things like "duke3d in XP" because certain programmers have made patches to let it run, for example Duke Nukem 3d, which has been patched to run fully by JonoF. Last but not least, microsoft makes a program called Virtual PC, which can be used to run several older operating systems at once. you basically install it, then its like having a computer inside of a computer, so you could install windows 95 on your virtual pc and play the older games. this is more work though, because you also have to have the installation discs for any other older OS you want to run. However it has been recently released for free on microsofts web site. By chance, if you know exactly what games you are looking at buying, someone might be able to post a link to a fix for that particular game.

It may work - or maybe not! You won't know til you try it. Read the other posts about compatibility modes.
Also, since 95/98/ME didn't have the concept of user profiles, many of these games will only work in the user profile you are using when installling, but not in the other user profiles.
