Would it be wrong to revert back to it today? Do you think its evil? What does this say about Christianity? If Christianity was never introduced to our ancestors, we'd, more than likely, be practicing it today.

Your thoughts?

BTW - NO, I do not practice voodoo. It was just a thought.

Voodoo was practiced by most Africans and is still practiced today in many countries.

Again, I do not, nor intend to, practice voodoo. It is merely a question.

I think it all depends. If your African ancestors were from Western Africa, Benin, Congo, Nago, Dahomey, Fen, then yes you should get back to your roots and follow the religion of your people. If your lines doesn't come from western Africa then no you should not practice Vodou.

But lets remember things happen for a reason. We are lucky in this day and age they we are exposed to different cultures and religions. We are not forced to practice anything we don't want to. This was the freedom the slaves did not have. Since we have it choice the true answer would then be it is up to personal choice. Everyone should decide for themselves what religion to practice. Most religions are world wide anyhow!

OK, first of all, who do you think was in the Garden of Eden? Where is the Holy Land? It was called Africa before it was renamed the Middle East. Lastly, what color are the people who live there now? Christianity was introduced way before voodoo. Read about the Ethiopian in the book of Acts. He was black. Christ had hair of wool. How many non white races have hair of wool?
Please read and educate yourself on where we come from and how/ why we are who we are. Colonialism didn't teach us Christianity. We were Hebrews/Jews and at the worst worshipped the sun and the moon.

If anything when we were displaced to various parts of the world we were introduced to voodoo. With that said the question should be.

If we weren't transplanted all over the world, (you do know that we were sent to Italy,Spain, Portugal, Jamaica, Mexico and various other places as slaves?) would we have been exposed to other religions such as voodoo?

I would say yes we would have been exposed to everything that every other person has been exposed to. God has given us "free will" to do what we want. He wants us to choose Him. Is it "wrong " to choose anything/ or person over him.....Yes

That is a very good question! although I am not a black person I would have to say , that black people were doing fine until the "Christians"came along and tried to convert the whole damn world. I don't see anything wrong with Voodoo if it is done in a non harmful way. Hell it was around long before Christianity.

That's why missionaries go to different countries to share Christianity to people who have never been exposed to it. God knows no borders so our ancestors would have been exposed to it eventually. Christianity is the only true religion, so yes it would be wrong to practice voodoo.

No, it wouldn't be wrong if it's what you truly believe in. People of every race have ancestors who practiced a different religion before they were introduced to Christianity. If Christianity was never introduced to many people's ancestors, many more people would be practicing a different religion today.

hi im not African or American yet i will empathize with what you assert, i think of that if a faith is solid for the time of on the instant in the present day in historic past for somebody then so be it, i think of that the roots are continuously corrupt the christians burnt witches who did no harm they did some evil **** yet karma continuously seems after it in the tip. apparently there are actually not any infants desirous to be christian priests anymore, probable because of the way christians have taken care of people over historic past, i think of christianity would die out sooner or later and we are able to all grow to be a loving non violent religious family contributors no depend what our blood form, coloration race or creed, what an attractive image which would be!

If that's your thing, go for it lots of voodo shops in New Orleans. I think its dangerous I saw on tv where a voodo priest put a hex on some poor black man and he died from a heart attack within an hour/ I don't think it's evil, it's a religion and I just really don't understand it and it's ramifications

God made voodoo, too. If it is used for good purposes, what's the harm?
