Many of the world's issue boil down to religion. Just ask a dumb muslim, jew, catholic or jehovahs witness.

The only thing good about a church is the architecture.

Jesus, Mohammed, the Pope are all a bunch of shaman. If the first two even existed, which they likely didn't and are just a figmant of somebody's imagination.

Religion is just something that was invented by charismatic and smart people a long time ago.

I think of those people as just shrewd politicians. It's in human nature for some people to do this type of stuff and for others to be sheep.

What I can't believe is how people can take things seriously that were written by people who thought the world was flat. My point being that they had a lot of BS stories to make themselves feel like they understood things.

Just take the fools that slaughtered people to appease the gods so they could get some rain. Obviously they didn't know that rain wasn't a thing that was turned on and off by a magical being.

The fact others don't realize I'm right is also mystifying.

As a side note, it's been proven that atheists are proven to be smarter human beings than people who believe in religion.

It's a true fact that an high percentage of the genius's were atheist.

Great Question. Yes, it is a fraud. I think it's good for some things - like taking people's money. I've never understood the concept of religion in general. It's all gibberish to me. Religion is about what other people want you to do and be. I don't see where god, if there is one, comes into it all. How can a person be taught, by others, what to believe? Smacks of fraud and brainwashing to me.

Nope. I mean, even if certain religions seem crazy, or are disproven by science, that doesn't mean it's a waste of time for the followers. The whole point of religion is to help make sense of the world and have a belief about what everything came from, and plus it teaches you values and a good way to live life. I hate all this rubbish about "What if you're wrong?" and "If your faith was wrong, which religion would you switch to?" and all that. It doesn't matter whether you're 'wrong' or not, it's how meaningful your faith is to you.

No - its not a big fraud. I don't take part in any religion, its not for me - but for many of my friends its their life and they are quite happy with it. They live their life within a set of guidelines and spend it with like minded people. A friend of mine is going through some really bad stuff at the moment and is only getting by because of his faith.
I have given it a go but alas can not muster any faith - it just sounds like a bunch of fairy stories to me - but I respect other peoples deeply held beliefs and they mine

hope this helps

Think of where we'd be without religion. Research on the good it has done for humanity.
I invite you to read the book "How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization." by Thomas E. Woods, Jr.

Yes, I do. That is my right as an American to think so as well.

However, I don't call people out (unless they do first) on their beliefs. I believe everyone, including myself as an Atheist, has the right to believe what they want to believe.

It's when people cross the line and try to force feed their beliefs down my throat, or insult me for my choices, or attempt to attack my children that I have a problem with their points of view.

I do think that religion is a fraudulant practice though. But everyone has their opinion.

Well. We do get the right to choose whatever religion we follow. Even if you think it's a fraud, others might not think so. Hope this makes sense.
