I believe you should try to find a job on the days you are out of school as a server or something where you would have access to cash daily. Rent a room, feel blessed to have a car. Ask about a work study program. If you need to work more then lessen your school work load. There have got to be some benefits for being a full time student. I was a full time student, worked in the library in the morning, went to class in the afternoon and worked serving at night. I had no welfare and supported 2 children. But I made it! I am still 10 years later paying off those student loans, but I have a job, house, car and the necessities of life... with an education to boot. You have to dig, search, find the grants, financial aid, what ever you need to survive.

There must be a counselor at your community college that can help you....or church members or the preists. You poor thing. Don't give up, there is definitely hope. You're obviously trying your hardest. Maybe you can somehow cut back on school hours so you can work. If you can possibly stay with a church member until this semester ends....you can find work. Even if you're a fulltime student, you can still get a part time job. Keep your chin up, and don't give up. There are people that will help you as long as you're helping yourself. Are there any grandparents or other relatives you can turn to? Definitely talk to a counselor, or go to your local Community Services board...they will help you. I hope you find help, Sweetie.

How are you paying for college? In your questions, you stated that b/c you worked, you didn't have time to go out. You have to prioritze your life. Going out may have to be put aside until you have the time. My husband works full time and goes to a PRIVATE college, so the work load is more demanding than community collge. ALL of his spare time is spent doing homework. It is very stressful to carry the burden of school and work full-time, but unfortunately it's a part of being a grown up. I would get a job, go to college, find a reasonable place to rent and get your butt off the street before something happens to you! You also need to prove to yourself and your parents that you are responsible and you can only do that by moving forward and accepting the fact that you are going to have to work and go to school. Good luck though.... but it can be done, if you really want too!

Don't really know where to start either. The only thing that I can say is that it will get better, cuz it cant get too much worse. Maybe you could try some churches. I am not a church goer myself, but every time that I really needed help, I got it from good people at a church. Best of luck, and don't let it get you down. It doesn't sound like you did anything wrong.

you were right to call the police and report your father. you should not put up with being physically abused. if they don't understand that then they are not very supportive parents and you should get away from them. as for the work situation, see if your college offers and sort of work study program. you can work and get paid for it while still earning credits for school. good luck!

You didn't say what happened to your job. Go back to work, rent a room, then upgrade to an apartment when you can afford it.

maybe you should just take a class or two so you dont get as overwhelmed, and you can work a little longer (20hrs) and get food stamps, and even afford a little place, good luck :)
