If true what is there in sharks which make them resistant to cancer can we not find it out and impart the same resistance to the human beings.Is any research being conducted if it is what are the results so far.

Sharks are made of mostly cartilage. Blood does not circulate through cartilage like it does in bone.

To persist, cancer and tumors require a heavy blood supply carrying plenty of oxygen to the affected site.

I think research is being done, but I'm not sure about the deossification of skeletal parts.

The Chinese consume copious amounts of shark fin soup for their celebrations. After thousands of years, perhaps they know to extract benefits from fins, although they're killing too many sharks.

In fact, according to scientists, sharks and related fish can develop a wide variety of benign and cancerous tumours.

They can even get cancers in the very cartilage being marketed as a cancer cure.

The research was carried out at the Johns Hopkins University and George Washington Univeristy in the US.

By looking at a register of tumours in animals, they found 40 cases of tumours in sharks and related animals like skates and rays.
