hard to do but don't be chicken about it or some rooster braver than you is gonna get the worm while you are still investigating and curious and scared it if it is a worm if it'll bite your beak off.

Instead develop ur personality and confidence as well.
Life is very long,u may get many such crush on many occasion
only u have to understand & decide which one is the real one.Then come accross and go for adate if she agrees.

First you have to build up your self-esteem so that when people act stupid and make fun of you it doesn't matter because you know who you are.
Once you build up your self-esteem coming forward and talking to anybody will be much easier.

don't seek validation or approval from girls or anyone......that validation that you seek can only come from you.......You should learn to be attractive to women and then you won't have to ask yourself if she likes you.....because "likes you" here means you want to know if she finds you attractive.....later once she gets to know you then you will know if she really likes you.......for who you are........
and if you do go out on a date don't change because you are afraid that she won't like you........that is not attractive....be your best self and see if she likes that.....
