I am trying not to get excited about this, but of course I never had a call like this one before. I went to the Derm a few weeks ago for my six month visit for my acne. I had a large mole on my arm for quite sometime. It was not bothering me, just ugly looking, so I asked for the Derm to remove which he did and sent out for a biopsy. The Doctor called me this morning to inform me that I have melonoma and that the lab reviewed it and then they sent it to Univ of PA for a 2nd opinion. Is there anything to be worried about? I have been doing research on the internet regarding this form of cancer and it is always confusing to me. On Tues, I will go to the Derm office for removal and I assume afterwards they sent it out again to make sure all is gone. Is melonoma cancer? Please if anyone has been through this or can shed some light, please let me know.

Thank you so much.

Yes, it is cancer. I'm sorry. But it IS treatable. So don't get too upset. They will need to go back and cut more of that area away to make sure they get clean margins. Then you will either go through course of chemo or radiation to make sure all the abnormal cells are gone. Hopefully it has not spread. But they need to make sure of that, too.

I made it through inflammatory breast cancer 7 years ago. That's a very hard type to get rid of. So you can do this, too.

Good luck!

First off stay calm, you caught it early and your doctor has informed you of the situation. If it was worse, doctors are not allowed to just drop bombs on patients over the phone, he or she would have called you in for an immediate appointement and discussed options with you, so this is a good sign too. Most likely they will remove some of the area from around the mole and put you on an antibiotic and a topical steroid cream to help the area heal. When you see your doctor ask him or her if she can do a full body check, head to toe, every nook and cranny (didn't know what else to say there) for any other moles or birth marks that may even look slightly suspicious. If they have any doubt what so ever have it tested.
Now is the time you need to change some thing in your life style. If you go tanning, you have to stop it now, immediatley. Your body can't handle the radiation given off by the bulbs. If you excessivly tan outside, stop that too, and begins using moistureizer on your body that contains a small SPF for daily use. If you do go tot he beach, SPF 40 or higher and sit under an umbreralla when not active in the water. Reapply once out of the water as sweat and water wash it away.
Just stay as calm as you possibly can. This happens to a lot of people every day and I am sure you are in good hands with your doctor.

My sister went through this a few years ago and what bmac said is correct. They take the mole plus more skin just to make sure that it hasn't spread. She had to have that done with quite a few times but she never had to have chemo or anything like that. She had to go to the Uof M hospital in Ann Arbor every 6 months though to be screened. That is all over with now and she wears hats in the sun and pants in the summer and stays out of the sun. Good luck on Tuesday.

I don't want to scare you but melanoma is the most serious of skin cancers - yes it is cancer. If treated early the outcome is usually good. I have had skin cancer and I keep getting new lesions (thanks to tanning beds). I have not had melanoma. Try not to worry. Be alert to any changes and report it to your doctor immediately. They will retest to be certain that they got it all. My thoughts and best wishes are with you.

B) Color*MedicineTM
This technique uses special filters for the correct frequency, which enhances our life energy. The results are seen on Tesla-Kirlian life-energy photographs. For cancer, Lemon, Indigo and Orange colors have been used in the past. More info on this energy technique at http://www.biochakra.com or http://www.colormedicine.com
ll is energy and energy can be changed, entrained.

C) Becoming alkaline
Being acidic may cause all kinds of problems. In my understanding, toxins from the body surfacing on the skin can cause problems. When we are alkaline, all organs can function best. We can measure acidity/alkalinity with a strip of pH paper (at health food stores or on the Internet). Best in my experience is a pH for urine and saliva of 7.5 (alkaline). 7 is neutral and not good for the body. Under 7 is acidic and bad for the body. You will read about the right pH in books, many syaying a pH of 6.8 (acidic!) is normal - may be "the norm" today, but not natural! The pH of both urine and saliva should be 7.5 at all times. Best is to measure often during the day and place the results in a list with time and date; including what had been consumed before the measurement to find out, what makes one is less acidic. It is a bit of work for about a week or too, but it is worth it, I feel.

D) Castor oil
I had cancerous spots on my skin and genty rubbed them 3-5 times a day with castor oil. When the oil is gently rubbed in, the remainder of the oil can be removed. It also dried up moles! It has to be done several times a day and the oil needs to be rubbed in gently and thoroughly so that whatever is in that spot cannot be reactivated. I also removed a big brown spot that way within a week or two, it just dried up. It is not good, I think, to pull the dried pieces, they come off by themselves.

In case you have the spot removed, you may want to take homeopathic Silicea (tissue salt) for some time, several times a day, to prevent scars. Or you can use the Dinshah color Turquoise and shine it on the wound. Closed wounds heal much faster this way, I found, wit almost no scars or no scars at all. If still open, other colors are have been used for the wounds.

One person said that Afraids is the worst disease. Trust that all will be well. Our body is a miracle and can recover, when given the right ingredients to do so.

Melanoma is cancerous. Get to an oncologist quickly. It can be very aggressive and requires immediate treatment. DON'T wait.
Good luck.
