I hate to say it but you have a puppy. You are going to be having this fun for a LONG time. Training does not happen over night, in a week, and sometimes not even for a couple of months.

Your puppy is teething so he is going to be gnawing on everything and if you don't give him direction on what to gnaw on, he will try to eat everything.

You want to set it up so you never have to say "no". Dogs don't get that. They just know they got in trouble but they don't know why. First, pick up everything off the floor that you don't want him to eat or chew on. You need to use specific commands all the time to get a specific response. If he starts chewing or eating something that you don't want him to put his mouth on, you say "(dog's name) leave it". Take it out of his mouth and then give him either a chew toy, teething toy, or doggie bone. Then praise him for chewing on that.

With such a young puppy you need to keep a strict eye on him all the time. That way you can make sure he doesn't get into bad habits that you need to train out of him when he is an adult. Make sure you do a lot of research on all aspects of training. When the dog has to think, it wears them out that much quicker and keeps them out of mischief (much like many adult humans I know). Use treats and use positive reinforcement. If you need more, google dog training, talk to a local trainer, and get the everyone who is in the household involved because it is going to take a group effort. You can even email me. It is a lot of hard work, but when he is full grown and can walk beside you without needing a leash, it is so worth it. GOOD LUCK!

she's probably teething, and chewing helps relieve her discomfort. Make sure she has lots of chew toys and chewsticks, rawhide is good because they really have to work at it. Crate her when you can't be with her, but make sure she has tons of acceptable things to chew on. If you catch her chewing sometihing she's not supposed to, correct her then give her a toy or chewstick - dogs are smart, (most dogs, anyway!) and will get the message.
