Learn it by tutorials, or a book of CS2 (or at least CS). Photoshop 4 is too old to compare to CS2 version, you will get the basics, but it's possible you won't find things back... because they moved places.

the dummies book will help you learn the basics, but alot has changed in the program since that version, so i would suggest buying or loaning from the library the cs2 manual.

Nah, the easiest way is to read tutorials on the specific tasks which you want to do. Do a google search for "photoshop tutorials" and there's a bunch of good sites that have pretty much anything you want to do.
