..but I have had it checked out at the dealership...also I am not a great barter type....any suggestions to how i can get close to the blue book value...I know the guy who wants to buy it and I know he will try to talk me down a lot...anything I should look for...any suggestions...of what I can say or counter with...what I should be preapered for..thanks

If you just had your vehicle checked by a dealer and they found no problems, you should be able to sell it for close to or more than the blue book value. However if it needs new tires and a bunch of little things, then you will have to come down some. Best thing you can do is make sure it is clean and run a title search for them, that costs about 30 dollars.

go to Kelley Blue Book and find out the private party value for your car. you can print it out to use as a selling tool. you might also check the paper for ads for cars like yours to get an idea of what they are selling for. if you ask a fair price, hold your ground.
