Doesn't it seem weird to you that the parents who come here for advice on child behavioral problems are spending so much time on their computers?

Yes, but I also figure 80% of the questions about child rearing are just for fun and the asker is not serious.

Not all the parents who come on here spend all that much time on the computer. Some are at work on lunch break, or stay at home parents with children who are in school. Some, like myself, only hop on when they are thoroughly frustrated over a situation and instead of debating it with their children vent on here. Most times they are not looking for answers, just room to breath for ten seconds so that they might handle the situation as mature, responsible parents instead yelling like children. Being a parent can be very exasperating, tiring, difficult, and there are times that your child can push you to the point where you want to say something you know you shouldn't. That's usually the point when the parent yells,"GO TO YOUR ROOM!" and the disgusted child, pouting and tears streaking down from not getting their way cries,"Why not?!" Next is the worst thing you will ever say to your child, the vile thing you swore you would never in a million years utter....,

" Because

I

Said

So!!!"

Now is your time to find another way to vent so you may discuss the situation rationally with your child, to teach them that even adults need a time out once in a while to so that they may compose themselves to treat others with the respect they deserve. Some people read, go for a walk, or go on the internet.
What ever it takes to do it properly, I say go for it.
Mind you not all parents are on here for this reason, alot are hiding from reality and abuse but in general, not all do it.
Well, I have to run so I can pick my kids up from the bus stop, they have a half of day today and I know this is going to sound Donna Reed-ish but we have cookies to make tonight.

What makes you so special that you can spend all your time on the computer and we can't come on here for one minute to ask supposedly intelligent people a simple question? Don't we have a right to enjoy ourselves, take a break when the kids are napping? Give me a break.

in some ways

they are probably just at their 'wits end' and can't think of anything else to do. Hopefully they find someone who gives good advice and points them into the right direction!

Um, no...their kids are probably in school, and frankly, the internet is cheaper than therapy. At least they are doing something, as opposed to the parents who don't do sh!t.
