You know those people that always come up with the most unique names for their animals? Well, I'm not one of them! Help me come up with a name for our new kitten. It's a boy, 3mos old...he's short and stocky, a strawberry-blonde Tabby. He's kinda lazy, and LOVES to cuddle. Any suggestions? Please be original. Thanks!

OK, I'm getting great responses, but I'm REALLY looking for something more original. He does sorta look like Garfield, and is on the lazy, eats a lot side, but he's SO very loving and he's more blonde than orange...and the "Garfield" name is just too over used. Anything more original? Thanks guys...keep 'em coming!

Just don't think of a name! Stop thinking about a name and the next time little kit goes past you, call out the first thing that comes to mind. I have 3 cats;
1. George- a 22 lb solid gray tom, that "I want to hug and kiss and call him George". (Only those that watch Bugs Bunny cartoons will get it...lol)
2. Maestro Buddy Mooch the Third - a 10 lb gray and white, long haired tabby that sings, sits with you 24-7, eats whatever you are eating (like a dog begging), and is from the third litter of kittens. We just call him "Mooch" since that what he does the most of.
3. Eartha Kitty - a 2 lb solid gray little girl (copy of George) that sounds like Eartha Kitt when she "talks". (Only classic Batman watchers will get this one)
Not too crazy but they were the first ones to come to my mind at the time and I couldn't image them being called anything else. Well, George couldn't have been "Bubby" but saying it like a old Jewish woman scared my husband.

Try a drink or candy name such as skittles or Sprite. Maybe even 100 grand. If you really like this idea, then the best thing to do is choose the brand name that has the closest color to your pet. example_ If your pet is liver brown, with some white spots, and a little caramel color in the middle, you might want to name him or her Snickers, because the Snickers bar has brown (the chocolate), caramel, and white from the wrapper or the nuts. Your welcome!! P.s my mom had a dog named pepsi before. LOL

I always tried to pick a name that reflects their character, for example right now I have a Spooky because when she was little she spooked easily. I have a PeeWee because he was so little but now is a huge cat, but he loves his name PeeWee. I have a Hoboe because my wife picked he up in a church parking lot nearly dead due to starvation, she was skinny had lost a lot of hair and looked much like a hoboe and she loves her name. We have a Pretty Boy because he was so pretty as a kitten, but now he looks like Jabba the Hut he is so fat, but when we named him he was Pretty, his brother was Tigger because he looked like the Wennie the Pooh Cat named Tigger.
Growing up I had Pesky because he was such a pest and my mother had a Beans because when he was little she had a bushel of Beans from the farmers marked and he played in them.
The way you describe your cat Lazy would be a good name it if fits so Stubby or anything that fits him.

Bear, Snoopy, Aslan (from Lion, Witch and Wardrobe), Fuzzypeg(cute hedgehog character), Lilo (you said he was lazy!), Cuddlepot or Snugglepie (from famous Australian book),
Kewpie, Siesta (lazy theme)
chaeck this excellent web page which gives the meaning of 'cat' in different languages...maybe you'll find it there:

when I name a cat I live with it a while and see how in blends in my environment - so i had a hemalyan named sophie because her color was like my sofa, a black cat named skillet (he loved it) a black cat named Frai Pan and an orange tabby named Harwood because he blended in with my hardwood floor. So I would need more info to name your cat but good luck and have fun. Maybe Tomato or mandarin (I like this one) or aprocot - get my drift???
