Where does the Surname Landscheit originate from?

I know that they came from abroad, possibly Holland / Germany, but I don't know where to start looking?

It does look like a German name, but it is hard to tell. Is this a family that emigrated to the US? I suggest checking immigration records for them - on ships' rosters, passengers indicated their place of origin, which may be helpful in pointing you in the right direction.
